college essay

Everyone has a guru to look up to or aspire to be. for some its a sports star because of their courage and for others it’s a religious leader because of their vision. For me it’s a writer and actor who was incredibly diverse. This man is WIlliam Shakespeare. He wrote plays and poems that are still read and performed today, performed his plays for kings and queens of the time, acted in his own plays, and was also a successful businessman of his time. He wrote 37 plays, mostly comedies, also tragedies and histories. He managed the playhouse The Globe Theater and his acting troop at the same time. I respect him because of his multiple talents and ability to be like a chameleon in the world of theater.
I have always thought that humor and laughter could solve almost any problem that a person is facing. William Shakespeare proved this through his amazing comedies. No matter how serious the situation is for the characters at the beginning, by the end they are happy. His comedies also brought people together of all classes and all walks of life to one place, at the playhouse. Like his plays and the way he ran the Globe I bring many types of people together through my humor and good nature: everyone from the most hardened jock to the most flamboyant artist and help them, by acting as a kind of conduit, to find something in common.
I also think that Shakespeare and I would agree that romance is something to take very seriously. Shakespeare was a very romantic person. In his many plays, whether it is a comedy like “Midsummer Nights Dream” or a tragedy like “Hamlet” there is always a theme of love in his plays. Romance is a big influence in all his character’s lives, and can bring out the best or the worst. In “Hamlet” Prince Hamlet saw his mother as fickle and the harm it caused. I can’t stand seeing the young people around me going in and out of what they call love. But In A Midsummer’s Night Dream the betrothals of Lysander and Hermia, Demetrius and Helena manage to solve the long feud between Oberon and Titania. Although high school romance is fickle and short lived, love can still do great things.
As I said, it is his diversity as a person that inspires me the most. Like William Shakespeare I have become a multitalented person. Shakespeare had talent in writing, acting, and business. I have talent in other areas. For the first part of my life, till I was about 13 I danced. I trained and performed in tap, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, modern, and then I even flirted with other styles like salsa. I have trained my voice with several years of voice lessons. I have been involved in several different types of shows from small black box theater, improv, dramas and musicals. I have taught as the assistant to the theater teacher in my high school and ran auditions in one of her classes, for “Competition Piece.” And the things I’ve developed my talent for goes on outside of performing. I have been on three wilderness canoeing expeditions and am an excellent canoeist. And maybe the most unusual talent that I am proud of is being a strong family member.
I’d like to do one thing differently than WS. He didn’t go to college, and I plan to. And I’d like to do one thing the same. Unlike most artists, he died a wealthy man. That wouldn’t be bad.

Common application short answer essay

In the past two years I have worked at the same place, the Sweet Leaves Tea House on Pleasent Street in Brunswick Maine. Its been really intresting to see in those two years watching all the different people come and go. Its like watching a person grow up. I started working there when it was just a baby; I was the first dishwasher they ever hired. The people who the owner hired at first were a little immature they didnt really know what was involved at working at a restaurant. Then a second wave came in and they were a little more mature, the Tsu-chef had actuall experiance and the waiters had better "bed-side-manner" then the last team of waiters. But something with them never really clicked. The front of house would fight with the back of house, orders got backed up or just lost, and things just werent working. Then finally there was this last group of people, the current team of the Sweat Leaves Tea House. They worked like a well oiled machine, the front of house always talked with the kitchen, the Chef and the Tsu-Chef worked very well together, and the customers always enjoyed the service of the waiters. The restaurant has gotten to the point were the owner dosent constantly have to be in the building she now has the ability to go out during the day and get her own stuff done. Working at the Sweet Leaves Tea House has helped me grow up a little. I has taught me how to act in a business enviroment, and how not to act.

Macbeth (not post just paper)

William Shakespeare
Macbeth, by William Shakespeare, is a story of betrayal, the difference between right and wrong, the story of a strong queen, the corruption of man, and how in the end kindness and grace will prevail. In this paper I will discuss the life of William Shakespeare, the life of the real Macbeth, strong women like Lady Macbeth, and how power and greed can corrupt a mind.
William Shakespeare was born in the town of Stratford-upon-Avon on April 1564. He was the son of John Shakespeare who was a successful Glover and alderman. His mother was Mary Arden who was the daughter of a gentry and was there for very wealthy. He was born, or so it is assumed, in his house on Henley Street . The actual birth date is unknown but the his christening is recorded as April 26 of 1564 and since a christening was usual three days after the birth of the child it has been agreed that he was probable born April 23, Saint Georges day. Shakespeare also died on this day fifty-two years latter.
William Shakespeare’s play, Macbeth, was written a time when on the thrown sat an Scotish King. To please this king Shakespeare wrote a play about the history of Scotland and it’s past. The play’s main character was a corrupt king by the name of Macbeth, who actually was a king in Scotland during 1005-1057 bc. This real king of Scotland bears little to no resemblance of the king in the Shakespeare tragedy. The real kings full name was Mac Bethand Mac Findlaich. His father was Finaly Mormaer and his mother was Donada the daughter of Malcolm the second. Macbeth ruled Scotland fairly for 14 years making new favorable laws and imposing Christianity in his kingdom. In the year 1050 he even travled to Rome for a papal jubilee. He was known for his bravery in battle and made many successful campains in Northumbria , England . The only true part to Shakespeare’s version of the story was that he did kill the ruling King Duncan, but unlike the book were he was killed unfairly while sleeping, the real Duncan was killed in battle near Elgin , Morayshire.
It seems like that in most major literature that there is a strong female character. In William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” it is Lady Macbeth. She, even though she isn’t exactly a heroine is a women who was willing to do anything to get what she wanted out of life. She was also very much like Daisy from F. Scott Fitzgerald’s book “The Great Gatsby” who was also willing to do what ever she needed to get the man and the life she always promised.

its a teusday

well its a teusday night to be more exact.

and strangley enough im sitting here very content and I really shouldnt be, I have homework to do, I have colleges to look at, I have a project due thursday for history, I have a semi-project due tommorow, yet I feel really at ease.

mybe its the calm before the storm but eh what ever im gonna talk all the calm I can get at this point even if its a moment of delusion. Because recentley its few and far between.

I feel if I had a soundtrack to my life it would the Greys Anatomy soundtrack because my life is like one over dramatic funny in that dark way kind of sitcom were everyone else finds it funny but the people in it. Then there are those moments were everything is ok for a while. Thats cool to me as long as my McDreamy comes along soon.

Ok im not gonna get into that today...I mean tonight.

anyway lets home the calm lasts more then just tonight because that would suck

A harlets holiday!!!

I call it a harrlet because it made love the only thing that I thought as a child to be uncoruptable, into a cash cow, with cards and chocolates, which killed that thought that was behind those papers and sweets.

Nobody makes there own cards

Nobody picks there own flowers

Nobody has an ounce of romance in them anymore they go to the local store and let someone else be romantic for them

if i ever have a love for this day I want to start our own trend were we can not exchange anything store bought everything must be by our own creation!

thats the true meaning of love; thought!

Pennywise

hey everyone new pics...

you should go and see them there pretty damn cool!!

great songs for a shitty sunday

Where do you go with your broken heart in tow
What do you do with the left over you
And how do you know, when to let go
Where does the good go, where does the good go
Look me in the eye and tell me you don't find me attractive
Look me in the heart and tell me you won't go
Look me in the eye and promise no love's like our love
Look me in the heart and unbreak broken, it won't happen
It's love that leaves and breaks the seal of always thinking you would be
Real, happy and healthy, strong and calm, where does the good go
Where does the good go
Where do you go when you're in love and the world knows
How do you live so happily while I am sad and broken down
What do you say it's up for grabs now that you're on your way down
Where does the good go, where does the good go

so this suday has just been a ball of joy, from getting no sleep last night to waking up this morning this morning not be able to find my pants and running through the house and the cops coming because one of the nieghbors reported odd noises coming from a house that was supposed to be empty!!

so yeah after I answered the door in my boxers and then letting the dog out and getting home I had to write a paper for english class due tommorow and thats what im still doing. But oddly im content and not depressed at all its not like anyone has called me wanting to do soemthing I have just been sitting around doing nothing anyway so I might as well be doing something productive

Another Saturday

Its another satuday and unlike most weekends I was up at 7 and showering and waiting for Kevin to pick me up to go and get to reharsel at nine. so at nine in the morning I had to dance around the stage and pretend that i was a horny, happy, straight, spanish man... that people is acting!!

Now I am at home and watching the Devil wears prada and doing things around the house that mom left for me to do. Im also home alone which I love beacuse I can make my own sechedule and do things my way and not worry about anyone else or what things I havent done. Not only that but I get my grandparents house (which is huge and costume built and everything) to myself because my aunt is going to sugarloaf to ski. So party at my other house...kidding!!
